Are you "dark and twisty"? Maybe you have thoughts you're afraid to share with anyone, even a therapist. Maybe you've had bad experiences with other therapists not being able to handle what you need to get off your chest, or worse they've overreacted and made you feel even more hopeless and misunderstood. So-called "taboo" topics like death, suicidal ideation, self-harm, or just being able to say "I feel like crap, and right now I don't want to be told to be happy" may be obstacles for others, but I see you, I hear you, and I "get it". Bring me your darkness, I have arms strong enough to hold it. You may not be able to see your way out of the pit you're in, and you may feel like you deserve to be there. I'm comfortable getting down in there with you, and when you're ready, I also know several ways to get out of there.

I worked as a 911 dispatcher for several years, and more recently have worked as a crisis/suicide hotline counselor. "I've seen/heard things, man." I won't say people can't shock me, because if I've learned anything, it's that there is no end to the insane things that can happen in this world. However, I can say that whatever you've got to work through, I will take it with professionalism, empathy, kindness, and humor (yes, dark humor and sarcasm are not only welcome but encouraged). You're the expert on you, you're the one who will be able to heal yourself and find your own path, but I can and will collaborate with you to help you find your way. Let's get you to where you want to go.
